Description: GhostScript is a set of software that allows you to interpret PostScript and PDF languages.
Allows you to open, convert and print PostScript (PS), Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) and Portable Document Format (PDF) files, whole or page by page.
The program was written by Peter Deutsch and distributed by his company Aladdin Enterprises.
Currently owned by Artifex Software, which has removed all old versions from the network. Available under GPL license.
The current version from Artifex is currently 9.54 and is not compatible with GSView 5.0.
The GSView program is a graphical shell for GhostScript.
In addition to everything that GhostScript can do, it can extract text content, convert to vector formats, work with paper size and Bounding Boxes.
The program was written and distributed for a long time by the author Raph Levien, later by Ghostgum.
Version 5.0 is freely available, but there is a registration mechanism. Registration removes the welcome window when starting the program.
Version 6.0 is not available and is owned by Artifex, which stopped distributing it in early 2019.
