The DentCAD package was created on the basis of the recognized PowerSHAPE and CopyCAD products, which jointly implement the concept of reverse engineering, in which a 3D computer model is created based on the data of a 3D scan of a physical prototype. Most of the typical procedures, such as modeling the bite surface, the bottom edge of the crown and the cement interlayer between the turned tooth and the crown, are automated.
In the process of working in DentCAD over the 3D model, the user can create dynamic sections of the product, control the degree of transparency of the surfaces and their color. A ready-made 3D model can be demonstrated to the patient on the computer screen.
