Working with Precision Mining SPRY v1.6.2.1036

Descriptions: Digitization of the mining planning process is a task that requires a modern tool that allows you to model production processes in detail, as well as ensure that the plan is changed quickly. Modern computers are capable of processing and visualizing huge amounts of information, so the specialist needs to choose and install a planning system that meets the requirements of the enterprise.

In 2021, Micromine acquired Precision Mining with their flagship mine planning product, SPRY. This event allowed the company to expand the range of software products covering the entire production cycle – from exploration to mining management, in accordance with a long-term strategy for multilateral development.

Precision Mining was founded by a group of experienced engineers who have been working in the software development industry since 2007. For over 10 years, the Precision Mining team has been honing and refining SPRY to meet the needs of the industry. This product is successfully used in mining enterprises in Australia, including coal mining.

Micromine SPRY is a stand-alone software with an extensive set of mining planning tools that allows you to quickly create all kinds of options for the development of mining and dump operations, as well as, taking into account the transportation parameters, to obtain the optimal haulage shoulder. Why have so many companies chosen SPRY for their planning needs? There is an obvious answer – the planner covers a complex of detailed decisions from the beginning of scooping up the rock with an excavator and up to dumping or storage. But not only for this reason. The purpose of creating this software, on which the ideology of the solution is based, is that the planning complex should be flexible, fast, and unified. To this day, SPRY has evolved around these principles. Flexibility is achieved through a large set of dependencies and limiting conditions, which can be applied to the entire pit or only to a specific area, to the entire fleet of equipment or only to selected units. The high speed of processing and visualization of a large amount of data is another clear distinguishing feature of the program, which in turn provides for the rapid calculation of a variety of planning options. Having such speed allows you to instantly see how the actions of an engineer affect the result, and, therefore, find the best solution from all options. The entire planning process is in one product, there is no need to switch to additional applications, all functions for working with excavation units (BE) are always at hand, which, in the presence of a modern Russian-language ribbon interface, provides maximum convenience for the engineer.

To plan the mining sequence in Micromine SPRY, it is necessary to prepare mining units with certain characteristics. The program supports the import of excavation unit frames in various GGIS formats, including Micromine, import in tabular form in .xml, xls, csv formats. Tools for importing DWG/DXF objects are available for such auxiliary purposes, for example, as importing the current survey when designing a quarry transport scheme. After the import, attributes are selected according to which the excavation units – levels – will be structured.

In accordance with the levels, each excavation unit has its own unique attribute. At the same time, for several excavation units, the attributes of certain levels may coincide, provided that at least one of the levels has different attributes. If you find an analogy for the index of the excavation unit in SPRY in everyday life, this is the city, district, quarter, street and house number. It should be understood that the structure is defined by the user and there is no mandatory template. It is also important to note that for an underground development, it will differ significantly from the structure for an open one. The main thing is that the structure should be convenient for the tasks given to the program in the order of working out, indicating dependencies and restrictions.

When determining the order of BE mining for equipment or the formation of a dump embankment, the sequence is set using cut unit indices in the dialog box or interactively in the animation window by selecting cut units in the appropriate order. For each mining machine (if any), inactive processes, periods of work, acceptance points, processes that will be performed by this piece of equipment are indicated.

In the process of creating a transportation plan, the fleet of vehicles for transportation and the location of transport communications are set, and depending on the shortest distance, as well as the specified acceptance point, the program selects the most suitable transport lane for moving excavation units. To provide a “bundle” of a certain type of equipment with an excavator, it is enough to specify it in the settings window. According to the already planned transportation process, it is possible to view many characteristics for the selected period of time, as well as to see graphically the necessary elements.

SPRY has a wide range of different dependencies to quickly set the desired order of mining and quickly change various options for the development of mining operations. At the same time, certain dependencies or restrictions can be made active or temporarily inactive with one click of the mouse button. In addition to determining the order of processing, including with the help of dependencies, certain restrictions must be taken into account. With the help of the performance limit, the required value is set for a specific process, for example, for overburden or mining. There is a tool to limit the time in which mining units are available for extraction, and with the help of the restriction by location, the minimum distance at which different pieces of equipment can be located is set.

Plan indicators – pivot tables are generated simply and conveniently, in design mode: by moving the indicators necessary for the report to the pivot table. The plan can be presented as a Gantt chart, while the chart is interactive, you can quickly jump to a specific date in the chart, and this will be reflected in the animation.
